We are not afraid to admit...

You may have seen this trend going around tik tok or Instagram - "we are x age and not afraid to admit". We decided to take out spin on this trend and share some of our thoughts with you here!

We are 35 & 36, took a six month career break and not afraid to admit ...

We have been lucky enough to enjoy a six month sabbatical and aren’t afraid to admit that:

  1. Although we worked hard to save up for this trip, we are extremely lucky & privileged to not only take time off, but have the passport privilege we do.

  2. You can’t just pick up & see your loved ones when you want, so we did miss special occasions.

  3. The world if full of adventures, but there is some comfort of having your own place.

  4. The more you see, the more you want to explore!

  5. When traveling, it’s hard to find a balance of rest and exploration/doing things. You don’t want to feel like you “wasted” any time, but it’s important to get rest as well.

  6. When we left, we didn’t fully have a plan for return, which is super scary, but we are trusting it all works out!

  7. It’s hard to not get caught up in the social media must visits, “seeing it all” or feel like you are missing something.

  8. When traveling long term, less is more when it comes to your luggage. Not only is it easier to get around, but helps you appreciate the simple things.

  9. The fomo can get real...seeing other travel folks who are going for a year or more..it's easy to imagine what if we kept traveling? How are they able to do this? Would we want to?

  10. Taking a break can be scary and finding a “good time” is always difficult, but for us living with the “what if we did this”, was scarier.
